This hands-on workshop will introduce designed experiments for those new to the
concept or reinforce the concept for those who have had experience with DOE in the
past.
This presentation will use audience participation to run two factor, three replicate
DOE’s with a response of flight time. Each group will choose their two factors from
a list of four possible factors. Some of these factors will be variable and others
will be attribute. After the initial runs, each group will run optimization on their
“process”. After optimum settings have been established, the groups will run 30
trials at those settings and compare total variation of the trials and deviation
from “optimum”. A friendly competition will determine which group(s) on average
come closest to their optimum and which group(s) have the least amount of variation
in their 30 trial runs.
