This Seminar will review OHSAS 18001 requirements and provide a proven method for integrating the OHSAS 18001 into the ISO14001 and ISO 9000 management systems. The Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series, OHSAS 18001 focuses on the identification, elimination, and continual improvement of hazards and risks within the work environment. The OHSAS management system methodology is based on planning for hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control. The OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) then incorporates’ ISO management system elements to address these risks.

The OHSAS 18001 management system is compatible with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems and represents a progression of a management system philosophy, from quality to environmental and continuing to occupational health and safety. An integrated management system merges the QMS, EMS, and HSMS requirements together into one management system. The significant similarities and overlap between these systems facilitates the ease to integration. This seminar will review the key elements of OHSAS 18001 and provide attendees with the knowledge and understanding of hazard analysis, a methodology for management system integration and the necessary linkage of QMS, EMS, and HSMS, to produce a single management system.
